I’ve hunted with every breed of coonhound and have owned most including one mountain cur.  I’ve seen good and bad in each breed and have witnessed the influence of competition hunting on breeding philosophy.  I enjoy intelligent hounds.  I like to see hounds take tracks as they come to them and work those tracks all the way to the tree.  If they open on the track, they should finish the track.  I prefer the hound that checks back in with me if nothing is moving close by and don't care at all to pack them up and go to another spot.  I will not tolerate ill or grouchy hounds, period.  I do not want hounds in my kennel that have a lot of health problems.

I believe that these redbones offer the best of what hounds can be.  They can be solid hunters, easy keepers, and a pleasure to be around.  These redbones have a sweet disposition and are eager to please.  If these are the traits you are looking for in a hound, you've answered the question, "Why Redbones?"
